Bentonite is the designation given to a generally impure mixture of clays. It is a plastic clay consisting mainly of the montmorillonite clay mineral, either calcium or sodium, and when in contact with water, its volume expands from very fine grains, while it may contain oxides found in various shades.
Main applications: manufacture of cosmetics, paper, and textiles, as a pigment for paints, and in medical radiology. Granulometry/Mesh: 200, 325, micronized.
