Barite

Barite is a barium sulfate mineral with chemical formula BaSO4. Found in various shades (colorless, white, light shades of blue, yellow, and red).  

Main Applications

General applications: nearly 90% of barite production is used to increase the density of drilling mud in the oil industry. Also used in the manufacture of paints and paper.
